CUPE 2087 reaches new agreement with City of Rossland

ROSSLAND – CUPE Local 2087 representing workers at the City of Rossland have ratified a new agreement with the City.

"I'd like to thank our bargaining committee for their hard work in reaching this deal," said CUPE 2087 President, Jean Poole.  “We had a productive and respectful round of bargaining and we look forward to serving residents and businesses in Rossland.”

"On behalf of Rossland City Council, I am so pleased that our CUPE negotiations went so smoothly. The two negotiating teams did a great job representing their respective positions and yet kept the interests of the entire community at the forefront. We have an exceptional group of dedicated city workers and this contract provides a fair compensation package for years to come,” said Mayor Kathy Moore.

The four year agreement consisted of a two percent increase in each year along with improvements in extended health benefits, bank time and contract language.

CUPE 2087 represents 24 workers in the City of Rossland who provide a wide range of services for residents and businesses in the City of Rossland.
