CUPE 3886 reaches tentative agreement with Royal Roads

VICTORIA – CUPE 3886, representing workers at Royal Roads University reached a tentative agreement late last week.

“The dedication and efforts of our bargaining committee are much appreciated,” said CUPE 3886 President Paul Allison. “We need to move away from provincial mandates that make collective bargaining so difficult.”

The agreement follows the five-year provincial mandate.

Contract details will be released only after CUPE members have the opportunity to review them and vote to ratify the collective agreement. A ratification meeting will be set for early December.

The tentative agreement covers the period from April 1, 2014 and will be in effect until June 30, 2019.

CUPE 3886 represents approximately 60 members at Royal Roads University – grounds, trades, maintenance and custodial workers.
