Langford RCMP detachment support workers join CUPE 50

VICTORIA – Support workers at the City of Langford RCMP detachment decided to become members of CUPE Local 50 at a Labour Board vote on June 15.

“We warmly welcome these members into CUPE Local 50 and look forward to working together,” said CUPE 50 President John Burrows. Burrows noted that the RCMP support workers are a great fit with the local.

CUPE 50 served notice to bargain today and will commence bargaining a first agreement on behalf of the RCMP detachment support workers with the City of Langford.

CUPE Local 50 represents workers at the City of Victoria (inside and outside), Victoria Police Board, BCSPCA Victoria Branch, Gorge Vale Golf Club, Royal Oak Burial Park and the United Way of Greater Victoria.
