Online petition for local services

VERNON— BC Assessment offices in Vernon and Penticton are slated to be shut down by the provincial government. The 22 members of CUPE 1767 who work at these offices want to keep jobs and services local and have launched an online petition to let the province know.

The province wants a single office for the entire Okanagan located in Kelowna. CUPE 1767 believes the services they provide locally are vital to the community and ask for your support in lobbying the province to maintain these offices so business and residential questions and problems can be dealt with locally and, if needed, in person - not just by touch-tone phone or by driving to Kelowna.

Please take a moment to sign the petition.
