VANCOUVER—Members of CUPE 391 (Vancouver and Gibsons Public Library Workers) have joined a unique campaign by the Stephen Lewis Foundation to help raise funds to combat HIV/AIDS in Africa.
This month (October 17-25), thousands of Canadians will take part in a nationwide challenge, called "A Dare to Remember" in which participants choose a dare - it could be funny, sporty, healthy - then ask others to sponsor them. This financial support can help families and communities turn the tide of AIDS in Africa.
On October 14, CUPE 391 members will join the dare. At the same time, they will dare to bust stereotypes about people who work in libraries!
