Health

CUPE represents approximately 5,300 workers within CUPE's BC health sector.

Emergency Services

Ambulance Paramedics of B.C. form the largest group within CUPE's health care sector within the Facilities Bargaining Assocation (FBA) representing 4,000 members in CUPE Local 873. Ambulance paramedics provide pre-hospital care throughout the province. They cover an area of 366,255 square miles. 

A sub-local of CUPE Local 873 represents 500 emergency dispatchers who work for Vancouver-based ECOMM taking and dispatching calls for police and fire in the Lower Mainland.

Health Authorities

CUPE also represents over 1,300 community health workers who work for three of B.C.'s Health Authorities.

We have over 750 members in the Health Sciences Professional Bargaining Association (HSPBA) and about 600 in the the Health Services and Support Community Subsector Bargaining Association (CBA).

These are provincial associations in which the HSA and the BCGEU respectively are the lead unions.  Articles of association for HSPBA and CBA.

CUPE members provide diagnostic, clinical, inspection, advocacy, home support, counseling, preventative, and rehabilitation services in the following Health Authorities:
