
Communities throughout B.C. and across Canada are facing pressure to privatize their water and wastewater systems.
The disastrous consequences of commercializing water and handing control of such vital resources to corporations to run for a profit is well-documented – from rising prices, declining water quality, limitations on conservation to outright denial of water to those who cannot afford to pay.
In a world where increasing freshwater shortages are a growing reality, it's in all our interests to get involved in keeping our water and wastewater services clean, green, affordable and in public hands.
You can do this by organizing a Water Watch group in your community or joining one of the existing groups and/or campaigns in the province. See below:
